Old Geezer

When I was traveling through Nevada recently, we stopped at a gas station and I saw a book that gave rules for how to be an "Old Geezer". I can't remember the rules they gave. Your task is to write some rules for being an "Old Geezer". Write at least 5, but you can have more than one entry of 5. You can write them in poem form, or even set them to music if you like. Don't be an "Old Geezer"....start writing! :)

  1. I think it's always easier to remember something (especially if you're old) if you set it to music, so here are my "Rules" set to music in the top 12 songs of "How to be a Geezer":

    1. "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" (from the film, "42nd Street)
    2. "Why You Gotta Be So Mean?" - Taylor Swift
    3. "Help" - The Beatles
    4. "I Get Around" - Beach Boys
    5. "Day Tripper" - The Monkees
    6. "The Sound of Silence" - Simon & Garfunkel
    7. "Walk Like a Man" - The Four Seasons
    8. "Can't You Hear My Heartbeat?" - Hermin's Hermits
    9. "Don't Let Me Down" - The Dave Clark Five
    10. "Reelin' And Rockin'" - The Dave Clark Five
    11. "Blowin' in the Wind" - Bob Dylan
    12. "That's Not My Name" - The Ting Tings

  2. Yikes, I forgot I was waiting on this. I'm glad you are keeping us on our toes Nene. :) But you all know that she is worried she is going to win by default. ;)

  3. 1. Make people repeat what they said at least 3 times, even if you heard correctly the second time.

    2. Shake your cane/walker at people for the fun of it.

    3. Say things that don't fit into the conversation. To add effect, say them specifically to the most random person in the room.

    4. Own 30 pointless garden decorations that aren't in use and haven't been for just as many years.

    5. Always have your way, even if your way doesn't entirely make sense to you either.

  4. You know you're a GEEZER when:
*There's more hair in your nose, ears, and eyebrows than there is on the top of your head.
*You put 5-year guaranteed light bulbs in your light sockets and wonder if you'll expire before they do.
*Your biggest monthly expense in prescriptions, and you're more worried about the side effects than what you are taking them for
    *Your get-up-and-go got-up-and-went
*The first place you turn to in the newspaper is the obituary section
*You remember everything that happened when you were 18, but you can't remember where you put your glasses

  5. Any other takers? I'm going to call this tomorrow. Come on, quit being an old geezer and play! ;)

  6. Eep! I forgot to call this! Okay, I think I'm going to go with Archeantus on this one because his made me think of actual old people I know! :D

    Congratulations Archeantus!
