An Olympic Challenge!

Olympic Rings

For those who know me, it comes as no surprise that I may not watch much sports on TV, but I watch AS MUCH OLYMPICS AS POSSIBLE!

I LOVE the Olympics! Summer, Winter, doesn't matter. I watch ANYTHING from archery to weightlifting. My TV is rarely tuned to anything else if Volleyball is on, but I love it all!

Your new challenge is Olympic in nature and stamina!

First, please create a new Olympic event. It should be an event that is primarily human in nature (Please don't create a new equestrian event). You should describe briefly the name of your event and how it is performed.

Second, tell me who the first gold-medalist is for your even, and what country they represent. Don't fall back on existing athletes. They have enough to do!

Lastly, create the headline for the newspapers reporting on the premier playing of your event. Just the headline. You don't need to write the whole article. Literary devices common to papers should be considered.

I will award Gold, Silver, and Bronze in this challenge, but only Gold moves on to create the next challenge! Let the games begin!

  1. I don't know about you, but I only get notifications from comments. I figure if I comment here, you will all get a reminder email....

  2. I don't get any email from this site any more - maybe from when I had to get a new email after my email account was hacked.

  3. I may have to bend the rules a little for my entry here. My event is the "faceoff" event. Basically, it consists of disposing of your old face, and getting plastic surgery. This year's gold medal winner is a former olympian who has returned in this new sport Former track and field athelete Bruce Jenner has won the "faceoff" challenge, and is now sporting a much different face than he presented us in his former olympic years. Some have questioned his ability to participate because of the generous money invested by the Kardashian family. But Olympic rules do now allow the athlete to receive money, so we felt this fit within the Olympic guidelines. Here's lookin' at you Bruce!

  4. Wow, a couple of weeks have passed, amd Delirious is our only entry so far! Everybody stretch and warm up and get out there on the field! Let's have some competition!

  5. I forgot my newspaper headline.

    Jenner Loses Face!

In this event, Olympians contend with each other to see who can tell the biggest lie. Contestants will be judged by facial expressions, body language, reactions from the crowd, etc. High points will be given to those whose noses actually grow longer. Top points will be given to any contestant whose pants actually catch fire.

Any and all current politicians will be excluded from this event due to the fact that if allowed,
they would all win this event in a tie with little effort and there can only be one gold, one silver and one bronze medal winner.

The Olympic committee has excluded the current
US President, and all current presidents, kings, tsars, dictators, and rulers of any other
country, however all past leaders and rulers are
more than qualified to enter. Likewise, all actors and actresses, newscasters and reporters are encouraged to try out for our US team. Those
interested should contact the Olympic Committee or our US team captain and last year's gold medal winner,Pinochio. On second thought, just contact
the US Olympic Committee since Pinochio keeps
fluctuating on whether he will be participating as captain or not and also since Pinochio's US
citizenship is still in question and last year's
"Liar, Liar" gold medal won by Pinochio may be
changed to become Italy's gold medal.

  7. Sorry, I typed that on "Notepad" and thought I had edited it in the comment box better than I did. :0+

  8. Any more competitors? Need to call this soon....

  9. FYI, I just made changes so that Inklings most recent email address is being used to notify of recent posts and comments. Let me know if you get this notification through your email Inklings. I hadn't updated your email since you changed it. :)

  10. I'm getting them now. Thank you.

  11. I am calling this one. Nene's seemed to hit closest to home, with the election coming up, so she is the winnerr! Good luck with the next round!
